Hair Microneedling in Rohini, Delhi

Microneedling pricks the scalp with very fine needles to set off a healing response and to help a topical medicine reach deeper. The studies behind it are small and short, and most tested it alongside medication such as minoxidil. At our Rohini clinic it is offered only as an add-on to a diagnosed treatment plan, never as a treatment on its own.

  • Added to a treatment plan, not used instead of one
  • Cause of the hair loss diagnosed first
  • Sessions and reviews at the Rohini clinic
  • Response compared with baseline photographs

How it works

What Needling Does to the Scalp

Microneedling makes many tiny, controlled punctures across the thinning area. The skin starts its repair process, and the hope is that this benefits nearby follicles; on its own, that effect has the least direct evidence.

The punctures also open brief channels through the outer skin, so a topical medicine applied afterwards can reach deeper. That is a modest aim, still being studied, and it is why needling needs a treatment to support. If you are not on one yet, start with a hair fall assessment at the Rohini clinic.

  • Mechanical, not an injection like mesotherapy: any product goes on the surface
  • Sometimes followed by PRP applied straight after needling
  • Supports a medicine; does not replace one

How PRP is prepared, and its limits

The evidence, plainly

An Add-On to Treatment, Not a Treatment on Its Own

Advertising often reports the research as if needling alone had been tested. Mostly, it had not.

What was tested

Needling combined with a topical medicine, usually minoxidil, compared with the medicine alone. Studies of needling by itself are fewer.

How strong it is

Small groups, short follow-up, and needle depth and session frequency that differ from study to study. It has not been shown to reverse or cure hair loss.

What it means for you

Added to a sound plan, it may help some people a little. Added to nothing, it is unlikely to change the outcome, and some people see no change either way.

Minoxidil, and finasteride for some men, carry stronger evidence, though neither is a cure and both have side effects. See our guide to minoxidil and finasteride.

Side by side

Microneedling vs Mesotherapy vs PRP for Hair

Three scalp treatments that are easily confused. Needling is mechanical, and anything used with it goes on the surface; mesotherapy and PRP are injected. They also sit differently in a plan.

Hair microneedling, mesotherapy and PRP compared: how each works, what reaches the scalp, evidence, place in a plan, comfort and usual after-effects
 MicroneedlingMesotherapyPRP
How it worksVery fine needles make tiny, controlled punctures; nothing is injectedSmall amounts of a prepared mixture are injected into the superficial scalpPlasma with concentrated platelets from your own blood is injected at follicle depth
What reaches the scalpA topical medicine, or PRP, applied to the surface straight after needlingUsually vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other agents, with no standard formulationYour own platelets and the growth factors they release
EvidenceSmall, short studies, mostly of needling combined with a topical medicine such as minoxidilLimited; its effectiveness in hair loss has not been establishedConsiderably more developed than for mesotherapy, though trials are mostly small and short
Place in a planAn add-on to a diagnosed treatment, never a treatment on its ownAt most an optional addition to better-evidenced treatmentA supporting course, usually alongside medication, with maintenance if there is a response
ComfortA numbing preparation is generally applied first; uncomfortable rather than painful for mostVery fine needles; uncomfortable rather than painful for mostBrief stinging; cooling or a numbing cream helps
Usual after-effectsRedness and tenderness for a day or so; pinpoint bleeding during the sessionTenderness, redness, small bumps and occasional bruising, settling within daysTenderness, redness, pinpoint marks or mild swelling for a day or so

None of the three cures pattern hair loss, and any benefit lasts only while treatment continues. More on hair mesotherapy in Rohini and on GFC, prepared a step further than PRP.

Suitability

Who It May Suit, and Who Should Not Have It

Two questions decide it: what is needling being added to, and is the scalp healthy enough?

May be discussed for

  • Pattern thinning that has been diagnosed
  • People already using a topical medicine
  • A plan that already includes PRP
  • Anyone happy with a modest, uncertain effect

Not advised

  • An infected, inflamed or flaking scalp
  • Alopecia areata or other autoimmune scalp disease
  • A tendency to keloid or raised scars
  • Hair loss whose cause has not been found

Other causes come first

Low iron, thyroid disease, hormonal conditions and autoimmune problems all cause hair loss, and needling treats none of them. Bring a list of your medicines, especially any that affect bleeding or healing. See which blood tests matter for hair fall.

Home rollers

Rolling at Home Compared With Needling in the Clinic

Scalp rollers are cheap and easy to buy, and home use is where most of the harm from needling happens: needles that are too long, a roller that is not kept clean, rolling over sore or flaking skin, and products that irritate freshly needled skin.

At the Rohini clinic the depth is chosen for your scalp after examination, skin and equipment are prepared under sterile conditions, infection and inflammation are ruled out first, and what goes on afterwards is written into your aftercare. Progress is compared with baseline photographs rather than judged in the mirror.

  • Longer needles add risk, not benefit
  • Already rolling at home? Say so at your assessment
  • You will be told what length and frequency, if any, suit your scalp

Step by step

A Microneedling Course at the Rohini Clinic

Nothing is needled at the first visit. A course runs over several months, with sessions some weeks apart, and the number is set by your diagnosis rather than sold as a package.

  1. AI-generated illustration: a dermatoscope and notepad on a wooden desk beside a potted fern

    Step 01

    Assessment

History, a magnified scalp examination and any blood tests your history calls for. Your current treatment, home routines included, is reviewed.

  2. AI-generated illustration: a tablet showing a head diagram, with a sheet of paper and a pencil on a wooden desk

    Step 02

Baseline photographs and a written plan

Fixed angles and lighting. The plan says whether needling adds anything, whether PRP goes alongside, and what the course costs.

  3. AI-generated illustration: a desk calendar with dates circled in green, beside a small succulent and a pen

    Step 03

    Sessions and review

The scalp is cleaned, numbed and needled, and your main treatment carries on between sessions. Over months, photographs are compared with the baseline; if nothing has changed, the add-on stops.

Recovery and risks

After a Session, and What Can Go Wrong

For a short time the skin barrier is open, so sweat, pool water, sun and harsh products reach the tissue more easily.

Expected

  • Redness for a day or so
  • Tenderness and mild tightness
  • Pinpoint bleeding during the session

Avoid for a short while

  • The gym and heavy sweating
  • Pools, saunas and steam rooms
  • Sun on the scalp, and any product not on your sheet

Call the clinic promptly

If redness spreads, pain increases, the scalp feels hot, or you develop a fever. Report these rather than waiting to see if they settle.

The honest limits

Infection is uncommon but possible whenever skin is broken, and products on freshly needled skin can irritate. Results vary, some people do not respond, and any benefit lasts only while treatment continues.

Recovering in Delhi

A Needled Scalp Through Delhi’s Seasons

For a short time after a session the skin barrier is open. General practicalities for those days; your written aftercare sheet comes first wherever it differs.

  • Summer sun and sweat

Strong sun and heavy sweat reach freshly needled skin more easily. Book a session for a day when you can stay cool and indoors afterwards, and leave the gym for a short while.

  • Smog season and dust

Winter smog and roadside dust settle on the scalp. Keep it clean, try not to touch or scratch it, and wash it only as your aftercare sheet says.

  • Two-wheeler helmets

A helmet presses on a red, tender scalp and traps sweat. Use a clean liner, and mention at the session if you ride every day.

  • Humid monsoon months

Pools, saunas and steam rooms are off the list for a short while. In damp, sticky weather, keeping the scalp clean and dry matters more than usual.

Cost guidance

Microneedling Cost Factors in Rohini

Microneedling is priced per session. Your course is quoted in writing after the assessment, with the rest of your plan. A course means several visits over months, so check the directions to the Rohini clinic before you start.

Be wary of a prepaid package bought before anyone has examined your scalp. An add-on should be easy to review and easy to stop. Where PRP is applied after needling, the combined session is costed together; how a PRP course is priced is explained in PRP hair treatment cost in Rohini.

Instalment options through third-party lenders may be available; ask at the consultation, and see cost and EMI options.

Sessions in the course

Planned from the diagnosis, adjusted by response.

Area treated

One region or the whole thinning zone.

With or without PRP

Combined sessions are costed together.

The main treatment

Medication is a separate line on the estimate.

Questions worth asking any clinic about microneedling

They apply wherever you are treated, including here.

  • What is needling being added to, and has the cause of my hair loss been found?
  • Who carries out the needling, and how is the equipment sterilised?
  • What needle depth is used, and why for my scalp?
  • Is anything applied afterwards, and what exactly is it?
  • How many sessions, how far apart, and what does the whole course cost?
  • When is the response reviewed, and what happens if nothing has changed?

FAQs

Hair Microneedling in Rohini: Questions

General patient education. Whether needling adds anything to your own plan is decided at the assessment.

Ask the Rohini Clinic
Is hair microneedling carried out at the Rohini clinic?

Yes. The assessment, each needling session and every progress review take place at our Rohini clinic in North-West Delhi, and they are carried out by registered medical practitioners.

Which parts of Delhi is the Rohini clinic convenient for?

The clinic is in North-West Delhi, near the Outer Ring Road, so it is closest for North and North-West Delhi, including Rohini, Pitampura, Shalimar Bagh and Prashant Vihar. The Directions link in the clinic card below opens it in Google Maps.

Will microneedling regrow hair by itself?

That has not been shown. The studies are mostly small and short, and most tested needling with a topical medicine such as minoxidil rather than alone. At most, it may help an existing treatment work a little better, and some people see no change.

How is microneedling different from mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy injects a prepared solution into the scalp. Microneedling is mechanical: the needles make tiny punctures, and any product is applied to the surface afterwards rather than injected. The mechanisms differ, and so do the considerations; see hair mesotherapy in Rohini.

Can microneedling be combined with PRP?

The two are commonly used together, with platelet-rich plasma applied to the scalp straight after needling so it can pass through the channels made. Whether that combination suits you is decided at the assessment; see hair PRP and GFC in Rohini.

How many sessions are needed?

It is given as a course, with sessions some weeks apart so the scalp can recover between them, and the response is reviewed against baseline photographs. The number is set by your diagnosis and by the treatment needling supports, not sold as a package beforehand.

What should I bring to the first appointment?

A list of every medicine you take, especially any that affect bleeding or healing, details of any roller or scalp product you use at home, and any recent blood reports. Nothing is needled at the first visit. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own; any change is the doctor’s decision.

Is it safe to use a roller on my scalp at home?

It can cause harm when the needles are too long, the roller is not kept clean, it goes over inflamed skin, or an irritating product follows. If you already roll at home, ask the doctor at your assessment about needle length, frequency, cleaning and what to apply.

Does it hurt?

Most people describe it as uncomfortable rather than painful, and a numbing preparation is generally applied first. Tolerance varies. The scalp is usually red and tender for a day or so afterwards.

Can I go back to work, wear a helmet or go to the gym afterwards?

Nothing in the session itself stops you working, but the scalp is usually red and tender for a day or so, which shows more on short hair. For a short while, avoid the gym and heavy sweating, pools, saunas and steam rooms, sun on the scalp, and any product not on your aftercare sheet. A helmet can feel sore on a tender scalp, so keep its liner clean. Call the clinic promptly if redness spreads, pain increases, the scalp feels hot or you develop a fever.

When would I see a difference?

Slowly, as with every hair treatment. Reduced shedding is the earliest measurable sign where there is a response, and density is judged over months against your baseline photographs, not week to week in the mirror. If nothing has changed at review, the add-on stops.

Who should not have scalp microneedling?

It is not done over an infected or inflamed scalp, in active autoimmune or inflammatory scalp conditions such as alopecia areata, where there is a tendency to keloid or abnormal scarring, or before medicines that affect bleeding or healing have been reviewed. It is also not a first step for hair loss whose cause has not been found. If needling does not suit you, your main treatment simply goes ahead without it.

Is the result permanent?

No. Needling does not change the process behind pattern hair loss, so any benefit lasts only while the treatment it supports carries on. When treatment stops, thinning generally continues.

Is EMI available for a microneedling course?

Instalment options through third-party lenders may be available; ask at the consultation. The lender sets the terms, so compare the total payable with paying outright. See cost and EMI options, and PRP hair treatment cost in Rohini if PRP is part of the plan.

Can I send photos on WhatsApp before booking?

Yes. Clear daylight photographs of the thinning areas help the Rohini clinic answer a first question, but whether needling adds anything to your plan is decided only after your scalp has been examined in person. The clinic is open Mon–Sat · 10:00 – 20:00 (Sunday · closed).
