Crown Hair Transplant in Delhi

A crown (vertex) hair transplant at our Rohini clinic starts from one question: how much donor hair your front may still need. The crown is measured, the order of treatment agreed and any second stage written down before you commit.

  • Crown measured, not guessed
  • Donor weighed against the front
  • Staging stated first
  • Written estimate first

About the treatment

How a Crown Hair Transplant Works

The crown, or vertex, is the top-back of the head, where hair grows out in a swirl called the whorl. In a crown transplant, follicles are removed singly from the back and sides of the scalp and set into the thinning area, each opening turned to follow the swirl so the new hairs lie the way their neighbours do.

Because the crown is a circle that often keeps widening, it can absorb more grafts than people expect, and each graft it takes is one the hairline cannot have later. In Delhi, DenceSpot plans and carries out crown transplants at the Rohini clinic, where registered medical practitioners measure the area and the donor supply before any plan is written.

Suitability

Who a Crown Transplant May Suit

Two things settle most crown cases: whether the vertex has stopped spreading, and whether your donor area can cover it while keeping enough back for the front.

May Be Considered For

  • Thinning limited to the vertex, with a steady hairline
  • Crown loss that has stopped visibly spreading
  • A donor area dense enough to spare grafts for the front
  • Bare areas of the crown where follicles have gone
  • Aiming for better coverage, not the density of your twenties

Usually a Reason to Wait

  • A crown opening up in your twenties
  • Loss that is still visibly moving outward
  • Thinning rather than bald, where medicine may help first
  • An untreated cause, such as low iron
  • A hairline that will need the same donor hair

Before You Spend Donor Hair

If the bald patch is still growing, grafts placed at its centre can be left stranded as a covered spot inside a widening ring of thinning. Medicine to slow the loss usually comes first; hair fall treatment covers that route.

Not sure whether your vertex is thinning or bald? The hair loss self-assessment is a quick way to put it into words beforehand, and the right age for a hair transplant explains why stability counts for more than age.

Treatment options

Crown Thinning: Transplant or Medical Treatment

They work on different hair. Grafting moves follicles into parts of the crown where they have gone; medicine and PRP look after the follicles still there. Most crown plans use both.

Crown Hair Transplant

Follicles from the back and sides are placed into openings made around the whorl beforehand, each at the angle of its part of the spiral. A wide crown is often split across two sessions.

  • Fills areas where follicles have gone
  • Uses donor hair the front may need later
  • New growth from about 3–4 months

Medical Treatment and PRP

Medicine is well supported for vertex thinning and is usually the first thing tried while the hair is still there. PRP is sometimes added to support thin hair, though its evidence is more limited.

  • Protects the native hair around grafts
  • Uses no donor hair
  • The gain fades if treatment stops

How the Doctor Plans Your Crown

  • The measured size of the thinning area
  • Whether the vertex is still widening
  • Donor density, and what the front may need
  • Your hair’s calibre, curl and colour against the scalp
  • Whether one session or two makes sense

How it works

How a Crown Hair Transplant Is Done

At the Rohini clinic a crown case moves through five stages, starting with measurement and ending with the review that settles whether more work is needed.

  1. 01

    Crown Assessment

The vertex photographed from above and measured, donor density checked, and your history and medicines reviewed.

  2. 02

    Order & Plan

Crown first or front first, the graft range and any likely second stage set out in writing with the estimate.

  3. 03

    Graft Extraction

Follicles removed singly from the back and sides of the scalp under local anaesthetic.

  4. 04

    Placement Around the Whorl

Openings made around the swirl, each at its own angle, then grafts placed to build coverage outward.

  5. 05

    Reviews & Next Stage

Photographed reviews as the hair grows; a second stage is decided only once the first has grown in.

Growth at the vertex shows later than at the front: see the month-by-month growth timeline and when a second hair transplant makes sense.

Recovery

Recovering From a Crown Transplant in Delhi

Sun and helmets both land squarely on the vertex, so a Delhi recovery needs a little planning. These timings are general; your written aftercare comes first.

  • First week: swelling, crusts and soreness; sleep as instructed and keep pressure off the crown
  • First weeks: many transplanted hairs drop out, which is expected, while the roots stay in the skin
  • Around three to four weeks: a return to full workouts is usual, with swimming from about four
  • From three to four months: new hairs appear, and the crown fills in more slowly than the front

Crown Care Around Delhi Life

Two-wheeler helmetsA helmet presses straight on the vertex; use cabs, even instead of riding pillion, until a review clears a loose one.
Summer sun and heatKeep strong sun off the crown early on; a loose hat comes later, when a review allows it, and let sweat dry on its own.
Smog seasonOn bad-air days spend as little time outdoors as you can; an ear-loop mask keeps straps off the donor area.
Festivals and travelPick a date so the first fortnight and the first review fall before a wedding or a trip.

Cost

Crown Hair Transplant Cost in Delhi

No price is published, because two crowns that look alike in the mirror can need very different graft numbers. The estimate follows the measured area, the coverage you are aiming for and what your donor can spare, and it is given in writing after your assessment at the Rohini clinic.

Measured areaThe width of the crown, measured rather than judged from a photo.
Donor supplyWhat can be taken now while keeping a reserve for the front.
One stage or twoLarger crowns are often staged, and both stages are stated at the start.
Treatment alongsideMedicine or PRP for the native hair, listed separately.

When comparing crown quotes, ask how the vertex was measured and how many grafts each plan would leave in reserve for your hairline.

What a Crown Estimate Should List

  • The graft range for the crown
  • Technique and local anaesthesia
  • Medication and follow-up reviews
  • Any second stage, stated now
  • Anything excluded, as a separate line

Instalment options through third-party lenders may be available; ask at the consultation.

FAQs

Crown Hair Transplant in Delhi: FAQs

General patient education. Anything specific to your crown, donor area or budget is answered at the consultation.

Who is a crown hair transplant suitable for?

Usually someone whose thinning at the vertex has stopped spreading, whose hairline is either holding or already planned for, and whose donor area can cover the crown with grafts left over for the front. It is often put off for a crown opening up in the twenties, for loss that is still moving, or where medicine may still help hair that is thinning rather than gone. Suitability is decided after the crown and donor area are examined.

How many grafts does a crown need?

There is no standard number. A crown is a circle, so the grafts it needs climb steeply as it widens, and the count also depends on the coverage you are aiming for and on how thick and curly your hair is. It is worked out once the area has been measured; the graft calculator gives only a rough starting range.

How long does recovery take?

Swelling and crusts settle over the first one to two weeks, and most people can return to office work after a few days, helped by the crown being hidden from anyone in front of you. Helmets and snug caps stay off until a review clears them, and the gym usually waits three to four weeks, swimming about four. The aftercare guide covers each stage.

How much does a crown hair transplant cost in Delhi?

No fixed figure applies. The cost follows how large the crown measures, how much coverage you want, how many grafts your donor area can give and whether the work is done in one stage or two. At the Rohini clinic you receive an itemised quote in writing after your assessment; the Rohini cost guide shows how a graft count becomes a price.

Does a crown transplant hurt?

The first few minutes, while the local anaesthetic goes in, are what most people remember. Once the scalp is numb you may still feel pressure, and a crown session can run through much of the day, with breaks. Expect some soreness for a few days, eased by the medicines you are given; tolerance varies.

When will I see results at the crown?

Transplanted hairs commonly shed within the first weeks, and new hair starts from around three to four months. The result is usually judged from about ten to twelve months, but the crown tends to lag behind the front and can keep filling in after that, because the same number of hairs is spread over a wider area growing in several directions. Results vary.
