About the treatment

Why Hairline Design Comes First

The extraction in a hairline transplant is the same as in any other; what differs is that the result sits at the front of your face, seen head-on in daylight. So the work starts with the drawing. The line is set where a mature adult hairline would sit on your face, using reference points such as where the forehead turns from upright to flat, then given small irregularities so it does not look ruled.

Grafts can be added in a later session, but a line placed too low cannot simply be raised: the only fix is removing hairs one by one. In Delhi, registered medical practitioners at DenceSpot’s Rohini clinic handle every stage of a hairline transplant, from the drawing to the final review.

ZoneHow it is built
Ahead of the line A few isolated single hairs
The front edge Single-hair grafts only
Just behind the edge Two-hair grafts
Further back Larger units for density
Temples Fine hair at sharp angles

Density builds over roughly a centimetre rather than starting at full strength in one row.

Suitability

Who a Hairline Transplant May Suit

Age alone does not decide it; whether your loss is still moving does. The examination looks at the hairline, the hair just behind it and how much your donor area can spare.

Usually Suits

  • Temple recession that has settled into a clear shape
  • Plenty of donor hair, with some kept for the crown
  • Someone happy with a mature, not teenage, position
  • Some women with a high hairline, after a medical workup
  • An earlier hairline that needs softening, assessed as a repair

Better to Wait, or Not Advised

  • Loss still moving fast, or thinning that began only recently
  • A firm wish for the hairline you had as a teenager
  • A small donor area with extensive loss expected
  • Active alopecia areata, or an untreated cause such as low iron
  • A health problem that makes surgery unsafe

The Problem With a Line Placed Too Low

At twenty-five a low, dense line may look ordinary. Twenty years on, the hair behind it may have thinned while the transplanted edge stays where it was, leaving a band of hair in front of a sparse patch. A slightly higher line can be brought down later if loss stays settled; one that starts too low has no such option.

Early loss that is still progressing is usually treated medically first, through hair fall treatment. The right age for a hair transplant and the Norwood scale help frame the conversation.

Design choices

Front Line Only, or Line and Temples

The drawing decides how far the work goes. Rebuilding the temples can frame the face, but it spends donor hair the front may need.

Frontal Line

Single hairs along an irregular edge, two-hair grafts behind them and larger units further back to build density. The edge is set at a mature height so it still suits you as the hair behind it ages.

  • Single hairs at the very edge
  • Small mounds and bays, not a smooth arc
  • Fewer grafts than line plus temples

Line and Temples

The temple points are rebuilt as well. Hair there is fine, lies at very sharp angles and grows backwards and downwards, so any error shows in profile; implanter placement is often used here.

  • Frames the face
  • Uses grafts the front may need
  • Often left while loss is moving

How the Doctor Plans Your Line

  • Where your forehead turns from upright to flat
  • How your loss is likely to progress
  • What the donor can spare, and what to keep back
  • How dark and coarse your hair is against your skin
  • Few faces are symmetrical, and the line allows for it

How it works

How a Hairline Transplant Is Done

Five stages at the Rohini clinic, with the line agreed before anything else happens.

  1. 01

    Assessment

History, medicines and donor density checked, along with how your loss is likely to progress.

  2. 02

    Drawing

The line pencilled on while you sit upright with relaxed eyebrows, facing a mirror; photograph it and look again a week later.

  3. 03

    Extraction

Follicular units taken from the back and sides and sorted under magnification by hair count.

  4. 04

    Placement

Single hairs along the front edge and larger units behind, each at the forward angle of frontal hair.

  5. 05

    Reviews

A first-week wash and check, then photographs as the hairline sheds, regrows and settles.

Recovery is covered in the aftercare guide, and the year of regrowth in the growth timeline, month by month.

After the procedure

Recovering From a Hairline Transplant in Delhi

A new hairline is the most visible part of a transplant for the first fortnight. General timings; your written aftercare comes first.

  • The first week: crusts along the front and some forehead swelling; sleep with your head raised
  • Around days ten to fourteen: the crusts at the hairline loosen and wash off
  • Weeks two to four: the new hairs commonly shed while the follicles remain
  • From three to four months: fine hair returns, uneven at first, settling by ten to twelve

Your New Hairline and the City

SunThe front catches it first, so keep the hairline shaded for the first few weeks.
Summer sweatLet it dry on its own rather than wiping across the grafts.
HelmetsThey drag over the front as they go on, so use cabs until a review clears one.
Weddings and photographsCrusts and swelling show at the front for about two weeks; plan around big events.

Cost

Hairline Transplant Cost in Delhi

What you pay depends on what is drawn. Rebuilding only the front edge takes far fewer grafts than adding the temples or building density further back, so the estimate is worked out from the agreed line and given itemised, in writing, after your assessment at the Rohini clinic.

Extent of the lineThe front edge only, or the temples as well.
Depth of densityHow far behind the edge grafts are added.
Donor supplyWhat it can spare, with some kept back.
Placement and sittingsFUE, DHI or a mix; one session or two.

A quote made from a photograph cannot allow for the line you agree in person, so treat any figure given before the drawing as a rough guide.

What Your Hairline Estimate Lists

  • The agreed line, and whether temples are included
  • The graft range and the placement method
  • Local anaesthesia and recovery medication
  • Reviews through the first year
  • The total payable, with exclusions named

Instalments through third-party lenders may be available; check the total payable before signing.

FAQs

Hairline Transplant in Delhi: FAQs

General patient education. Anything specific to your face, hairline or budget is answered at the consultation.

Who is a hairline transplant suitable for?

Usually someone whose recession has settled into a clear shape, with enough donor hair to rebuild the front and still keep some back for later. It waits while loss is moving fast or began only recently, and it is not advised with a small donor and extensive loss expected, or an untreated cause such as low iron. Suitability is decided at an examination.

How many grafts does a hairline need?

It follows the drawing. As general patient-education bands, early temple recession (Norwood II) may need around 800–1,500 grafts and a receding hairline with temples (Norwood III) around 1,200–2,000, while a line with density built further back needs more. The graft calculator offers a first estimate; the examination gives your own number.

How long is recovery after a hairline transplant?

Most people return to desk work within a few days, though crusts along the front and some forehead swelling show for the first week or so. The crusts usually wash off by about day ten to fourteen. Caps and helmets wait until a review clears them, and full gym training usually resumes at around three to four weeks.

How much does a hairline transplant cost in Delhi?

There is no set fee. The cost follows the agreed line — the front alone or with temples, how far back density is built, what your donor can give, the technique and the number of sessions — and you get it itemised in writing once you have been assessed at the Rohini clinic. The Rohini cost guide shows the working.

Is a hairline transplant painful?

The local anaesthetic injections at the start are the uncomfortable part. Once they work the area is numb, though you may feel pressure. Soreness and forehead swelling for a few days afterwards are common and are managed with the medication prescribed for you.

When will my new hairline show?

The transplanted hairs usually fall out between weeks two and four, leaving the follicles in place. Fine hair appears from about three to four months, uneven at first, and the hairline is judged at about ten to twelve months against your review photographs. Results vary between patients.
