About the treatment

What Happens in an FUE Hair Transplant

Scalp hair grows in tiny clusters of one to four hairs, called follicular units. In FUE (follicular unit extraction) each cluster is cut free with a punch less than a millimetre wide and lifted out whole. The units are sorted under magnification, kept in a holding solution, and set into small openings in the thinning area, angled to match the hair already growing there.

Donor hair at the back and sides is a fixed supply: once a follicle is taken, nothing grows back in its place. So the plan is sized to what that area can spare, with some kept in reserve for loss still to come. In Delhi, every DenceSpot FUE procedure is planned and performed at the Rohini clinic by registered medical practitioners.

Suitability

Who FUE Hair Transplant May Suit

FUE depends less on the technique than on two things: whether your loss has settled into a clear pattern, and how much hair your donor area can give. Both are checked at the examination in Rohini.

Usually Considered For

  • Pattern loss that has slowed and taken a clear shape
  • A donor area with density to spare
  • The crown, the mid-scalp or several zones at once
  • Hair kept short at the sides, though not shaved to the skin
  • An old strip (FUT) scar, which grafts may help soften

Postponed or Not Advised

  • Loss that is still moving quickly
  • A thin or thinning donor area
  • Diffuse thinning across the whole scalp
  • Active alopecia areata, or untreated low iron or thyroid disease
  • A health problem that makes surgery unsafe

If You Keep the Back Shaved

Each extraction heals as a small pale dot. Spread out, the dots sit unseen among hair of most lengths, but a head shaved to the skin can show them as faint speckling, so mention your usual haircut at the consultation.

If FUE is not right yet, hair fall treatment or PRP may come first. The hair loss self-assessment helps you describe your pattern before you book.

Placement options

FUE Placement and DHI Placement Compared

Grafts come out of the donor area the same way in both. The difference is how they go back in, and many plans use FUE behind the hairline and DHI at the front.

FUE Placement

Small openings are made across the thinning area first, then the grafts are set into them with forceps. It moves large numbers of grafts efficiently, so it is used where coverage matters more than the exact angle of each hair.

  • Openings made first, then grafts placed
  • Suited to the crown and mid-scalp
  • Efficient for larger sessions

DHI Placement

Each graft is loaded into a pen-shaped implanter, which creates the site and delivers the hair in a single step. It is slower per graft and usually priced higher, and earns that where angle control shows most.

  • Opening and placement together
  • Often used at the hairline and temples
  • The same recovery as FUE

How the Doctor Plans an FUE Case

  • Your donor density, measured under magnification
  • The zones to cover now, and loss likely later
  • The thickness and curl of your hair
  • How short you wear the back and sides
  • One sitting or two, to protect the donor

How it works

How an FUE Hair Transplant Is Done

Five stages, all at the Rohini clinic, from measuring your donor area to the review about a year later.

  1. 01

    Donor Assessment

Your pattern of loss examined and the density at the back and sides measured before any graft number is given.

  2. 02

    Mapped Plan

Grafts counted zone by zone, the hairline drawn with you, and the estimate itemised in writing.

  3. 03

    Extraction

The donor trimmed and numbed, then follicular units freed one at a time and kept in a holding solution.

  4. 04

    Placement

Openings made at the angle of the surrounding hair and the grafts set in, single hairs at the front.

  5. 05

    Reviews

A wash and check in the first week, then photographs at each stage up to about twelve months.

More on what the back of the head can give in donor area limits, and on the weeks after in the aftercare guide.

After the procedure

Recovering From FUE in Delhi

Most of the visible healing is over within two weeks. These timings are general; the written aftercare sheet you are given comes first.

  • Week one: pinpoint scabs across the donor area and small crusts where grafts were placed
  • By about two weeks: the crusts have washed off and swelling has usually gone
  • Weeks two to four: grafted hairs commonly shed while the follicles stay in place
  • Three to four months: fine new hair begins, and the donor dots have usually faded

Recovery Around Delhi Life

Two-wheeler helmetsGo home by car or cab; helmets wait until a review clears them, and then only loose ones.
Summer sunKeep the grafted area out of direct sun for the first few weeks; run errands in cooler hours.
Packed Metro coachesAvoid crowded trains and buses for the first few days, where heads get knocked.
Time off workMost people return to desk work within a few days; strenuous jobs wait for a review.

Cost

FUE Hair Transplant Cost in Delhi

FUE is priced on your plan, not as a package: the number of grafts your mapped zones need, the rate for the technique and what the estimate covers. You receive it itemised and in writing after the donor assessment at the Rohini clinic, before any date is fixed.

Graft countCounted zone by zone from the area to be covered.
One session or twoStaging protects a donor that cannot give everything at once.
Your hairDonor density and hair thickness change what each graft covers.
Supporting treatmentMedicine or PRP alongside, shown as its own line.

Ask of any FUE quote: is the number in grafts or hairs, how was it reached, and what will the donor area look like afterwards? Two thousand grafts may hold roughly 4,000 to 5,000 hairs.

What Your FUE Estimate Sets Out

  • The graft range, mapped by zone
  • Whether the plan is one session or two
  • Local anaesthesia and medication for recovery
  • Aftercare and reviews through the first year
  • The total payable, with exclusions listed

Third-party lenders may offer instalments; compare the total payable with your estimate before signing.

FAQs

FUE Hair Transplant in Delhi: FAQs

General patient education. Anything specific to your donor area, health or budget is answered at the consultation.

Who is FUE hair transplant suitable for?

Usually someone whose pattern loss has settled into a clear shape and whose donor area at the back and sides has density to spare. It is postponed while loss is still moving quickly, and not advised with a thin donor, diffuse thinning across the scalp, active alopecia areata or an untreated cause such as low iron. The examination decides; the self-assessment helps you prepare.

How many grafts can be done in one FUE session?

There is no headline number. It depends on how much your donor can give, how flexible your scalp is and how well you manage a long day. Where one sitting would take too much at once, the work is split over two to protect the donor. The graft calculator gives a rough starting range; your own count comes from the examination.

How long is recovery after FUE?

Most people are back at desk work within a few days. The back of the head has pinpoint scabs and the grafted area small crusts, which clear over the first week or two. Gym training usually resumes at around three to four weeks and swimming at around four; helmets and tight caps wait until a review clears them.

How much does FUE hair transplant cost in Delhi?

It depends on your plan rather than a fixed rate: the graft count, whether the work is staged, your hair and any supporting treatment. At the Rohini clinic the estimate is itemised and given in writing after the donor assessment. The Rohini cost guide works through the arithmetic.

Is FUE painful?

The injections of local anaesthetic at the start are the uncomfortable part. Once they take effect the areas are numb, though you may feel pressure or tugging during extraction. Soreness and tightness for a few days afterwards are common and are eased with the medication prescribed for you.

When will I see results from FUE?

Grafted hairs commonly shed in weeks two to four while the follicles stay under the skin. Fine new hair appears from about three to four months, and the result is judged at around ten to twelve months against standardised photographs; the crown can take longer than the front. Results vary between patients.
